Reasons why I purchased a used 2011 GT convertible last week

Hello.

Last week, I purchased a 2011 GT convertible with 40,000 for $17,300. Since last spring I have driven just about every type of convertible. I decided to go with the 2011 GT.

The main reason I went with the Mustang GT is common, the V8. It is such a pleasure to listen to it. And, when you need to separate yourself from other yahoos on the highway, just give it a little gas and they are in rear view mirror. I did get an automatic because this will my daily commute car. I wanted a convertible because they are just a lot of fun. My wife and I took a drive through the farmland in the Northwest. Cruising by the vineyards with the fall colors on a sunny day was incredible.

I did notice the 2011 back seat is a bit more usuable than the 2015. The 15 convertible top is lower and has headroom only for someone who is under 5’8”. IMHO, the older 2011 has more of a classic look. The interior is more primitive but that is ok. I am already looking to add Nav screen. Any suggestions on getting a cheap, good one to replace the shaker, please let me know.

I am getting about 24 mpg highway with the GT but city is about 17. I drive about 8500 a year so the extra gas expense will be about $300-$400 a year. Well worth it plus the maintenance is much cheaper on the Ford so it might be a wash in terms of cost.

being 6’3”. I do have to set the seating all the way back/down and have a slight tilt isn seating. It works for me and the seats are surprisingly comfortable. The car has new Pirelli Zero 19”. They seem about average. I may keep them on for about a year, sell them used, and go after the Michellins. We get very little snow in the NW but we do get ice.

very happy with my purchase and would love to get any feedback.

Thanks!
