Default Ride Improvement From Smaller Wheels

I have a2017 Ecoboost Premium that came with 19" wheels. Everything about the car is great except the ride is harsh when I drive on bumpy roads. How much of an improvement in the ride would I get by going to 17" wheels? Is there anything else that can be done to improve ride quality? Thanks

Find a local dealership with a base '18 Ecoboost and go drive it. Hitch a ride with a friend so it won't be obvious that you already own one.

I did something similar when I was considering putting 20" wheels on my V6.
