Default My late Intro

Well I am not a new member on the Forum or a new Mustang owner, so I guess this will have to be my overdue introduction.

I currently own a 2002 Mustang GT Convertible that I bought new in 2002 when I lived in PA. This car was never a daily drive, just a fun Sunday Drive car. Living in PA, just south of the Poconos, we did get snow so the Mustang usually came off the road in late December and didn’t leave the garage until May. In 2006, I moved from PA to NE Florida, when I drove the Mustang to Florida in 2006 it only had about 7500 miles on it and had never been in the rain. The move to Florida expanded the driving window for the Mustang and that opened the door for it to get caught in two of those 20 minute afternoon rain events we have here in Florida.

It wasn’t until 2013 that I got a bit more involved with the Mustang and events associated with Mustangs. That new involvement was triggered by making the decision to drive the Mustangs Across America (MAA50) road trip for Mustang’s 50th anniversary in 2014. The MAA50 road trip was the catalyst for me to get involved with National Mustang Club, my local Mustang Club and Mustang related Forums after years of just simply being a Mustang owner. As Florida residents (since 2006) we became frequent visitors of Disney World and in September of 2013 the National Mustang Club (MCA) was having their Grand National Show at Disney (race track in the Magic Kingdom parking area). While showing my 2002 in car shows was not where my Mustang owner desires were, but since it was at Disney I decided I’d at least try it once. So I registered, showed my 2002 in the occasionally drive class and it took a First Place. On the drive home I was starting to change my mind about driving my 2002 GT on the upcoming 2014 MAA50 trip. So after some discussion I decided my wife needed her own Mustang …… a car we would do the MAA50 trip so I could save my 2002 GT from the 6200 mile trip. We bought a 2014 Mustang V6 Premium Convertible for my wife, the car we would drive on the April 2014 Mustangs Across America trip, a road trip from Florida to Corona, California (LA area) to Charlotte, NC for the Mustang 50th anniversary party and back home to Florida – 30 days, 6200 miles. It was the greatest road trip I had every taken because of the people (Mustang owners), the car (Mustangs) and the theme – Mustang’s 50th Anniversary. Here is a link to our MAA50th Trip Blog if you’re interested. MAA50th Trip Blog

After the MAA50 trip, our life style changed, we got involved with traveling (Motorhome), we sold the 2014 Mustang we drove on the MAA50th trip (we just had too many vehicles for 2 people). I still own my 2002 Mustang GT Convertible, now with 24,800 miles on it and still only seen the rain twice in its lifetime.

I had hopes that in 2019 their would be a 55th Mustang Across America road trip, but it just may not happen.

So that is my intro, sorry it took me 4 years to get it posted. Life moves us in many directions.
