Default New to the mustang club

Hello,

My name is Dominick. I’m 21 years old. I’m a full time student at Pace University and work part time doing accounting for a firm in Midtown (Manhattan) as you can tell from my user name, I have a 91 red corvette Convertible. It’s my pride and joy. It has 28,000 miles on it and runs beautifully. I only drive it in good weather on the weekends. I decided I need a daily driver. I plan on getting a 2005-2009 Mustang GT fastback. now I just have a couple of questions. I test drove a 2011 V6 and did not like it. It felt very bulky and really did not seem to have the power I was looking for. Is the 2007 Mustang GT similar? I know it’s a different body and a v8 but they are similar in weight and both put out 300 hp. Another question, how does the 2007 Mustang GT sound stock? I really don’t want to put an exhaust on it. Will it grab people’s attention?
What do you’s think? Is it a good daily?

Thanks!

Dom.

They use the same platform from 2005 to 2014, so yes, basically the same,
different look in 2010; which also included sequential LED taillights, and a reduced
drag coefficient. The GT went up to 315HP here. Engines revised in 2011, GT
is 412HP. But yeah, GT in 2007 is only 300 HP.

They sound okay stock, I mean, I have a V6, and people turn their heads when
they hear me coming. They don't when I am in the volkswagen... So, I would
guess they can hear the engine rumble...

In 2015, the platform changed, and the car is 1.5" wider, 1.4" lower, and a 2.75" lower
deck-lid. GT is now 420HP, and their little 2.3L Ecoboost I4 is 310 HP. The 3.7 V6
is still 300 HP. Dunno why they did that, I'd go with the Ecoboost for weight reduction,
and still be > 300HP.

Thank you for the reply. Ive considered the new one. The New GT is out of my price range and I cannot bring myself to buy a Mustang powered by a 4 cylinder. I guess I’m a bit old school in my thinking. Unfortunately they did away with the V6.

I dont like the 2010- 2014 body style. It seems very big and bulky and I don’t like the rounded tail lights. I thhave no the 2005-2009 body most resembles the golden year of the mustang 1965-1970.

What do do you think, is it a good daily driver?

Thank You!
