First Mustang in 50 years
I walked out of the theatre after seeing Bullitt in '68, got into my '66 GT, determined to get a new S-code 390 GT Fastback. Life intervened, and I never got it done. After many, many other cars along the way, I started racing Corvettes, finally giving that up a couple of years ago. Looking around for the car I swore to buy back then, I realized after driving the vintage cars, I'm spoiled by AC, cruise, PW, tight handling etc., and old tech just won't do it. So, after looking at and driving a number of cars, I chose a 2010 GT, 5 spd, one owner car. Has adequate power, great fun and very satisfying V8 sound. I also drove a '13 Coyote Mustang, and decided I didn't need the extra power in a non racing car, but th extra power was fun (last Corvette ran high 10s low 11s at mile high altitude)
Plans are for a repaint to Highland Green, a set of Bullitt wheels (ordered last Friday), and other items along the way, maybe some suspension upgrades. I'm looking forward to learning from the Forum, as I discover everything about the S197.

Don't know if you've seen this, but they are running a raffle for a one-of-a-kind Bullitt watch.
It's an interesting story:
