Default Keeping stock or upgrading a 65 GT

Hello everyone, I am a new member and have a one owner 65 GT Mustang, I need your help in trying to figure out which way to go. Keeping her original or upgrading, is not really a survivor, since it's been repainted and been in an accident 20 some years ago, but everything else is original, I even have all the original keys from 65, it also has a Ford Reverb Amplifier, that I think is a dealer install, I'm not sure, shes been sitting for about 20 years now, the only thing I've done so far is rebuilding the original 4 barrel Holley carb. I really want do the brakes and new suspension, it needs it bad as the rear wheels are locked up, maybe just saving all the original parts as they come off? get er back on the road at least!

I'm sure there will be plenty of people that say to keep it stock, I say do what you want, and what makes you happy.
The big thing as always is how much are you willing to spend, to make it into your dream car.
Whatever way you end up going, good luck and start a build thread in the "Classic Mustang" section, and post lots of pictures, as we like pictures.

Hey Thanks AK, I don't think there will be too much value loss if I upgrade everything, and make it driveable, and I really dont ever plan on selling it. I'll attach a few pics

I'd check the bones first, like torque boxes, frame and rails, cowl, floor pan, strut towers, all that fun stuff that likes to rust. Gotta see what you're working with before putting on all the new fancy stuff! I have a 65 as well, and it needs some work on that before I go all in.
Good luck, its a fun car to work on. I just got my plasma cutter and welder and I'm ready to get to work!

Do what makes you happy with it, especially since you plan to keep it! Upgrading and modernizing things not a bad idea at all.
