New to MF but not to Mustangs
Hey everyone.
I've been a member of and using this board now for a few weeks and just realized I haven't introduced myself.
I go by the name Dirkpitt289; I’m 38 and live in New Jersey. My first mustang was a 64 1/2 6 cylinder mustang convertible. I got it for $900. At the time I didn't have a license and my dad had to drive it home for me. After I used that to rearrange the back end of a Nova I moved up to a 65 2+2 with a 221 challenger motor and a 4 spd. The rear quarters were toast but it was fast.
Other mustangs I've owned were an 83 GT with T-tops, and a 66 sprint coupe (which my wife at the time sold when I was away in the military. Note I said wife at the time). That was in 1993 and I've been without one till last year when I purchased an 86 GT convertible. It was in sad shape when I got it but it’s getting better.
Each and every one of these cars was driven daily in rain, sleet, snow and even hurricane Andrew. These cars were built to be driven and I do just that.
The next mustang I want is an SSP. For those who don't know what an SSP is. It stands for Special Service Project or in short, police car.
Anyway enough about me. I look forward to spending time around here and your help to my questions.
Press on with pride and remember, never cook bacon in the nude.
