With the exception of a couple cars from back in the day 90% of the new SS labled cars are faster. The 10% being the Monte Carlo SS (since the 80's) and the S-10 SS.

Impala was the first to carry the SS badge, and then Camaro and Chevelle came along...after that, I don't really care...depending on what year the monte received the SS, I am not sure, I may be made to care about that too.

I don't not like the Cobalt..looks like a quality vehicle, best of the American compacts by far...but to me being a muscle purist, it is sort of a bastard child and brother to the dodge neon and ford focus that Japanese imports have forced American car companies to start to produce to compete in that market. The American compact market symbolizes the fall of the era and type of car I love so much...which is hopefully on a comeback tour. So tacking on the SS badge which belongs to muscle cars to a non muscle car...well...

Just face it, bro. It is a disgrace to the badge to say "Cobalt SS."

Who cares?

I bought a Cobalt SS it has a 4cyl with a S/C stock it runs low 14's with $800 it will be running 13's all day long. With that being said with the exceptions of LS1's and Mach1's I will be able to embarass alot of people.

Thats why I bought it. If I wanted anything else I could easly afford it.

Agreed, I'm also talking about the "perfect traction for the SS"...well with Perfect traction on a GT, you'd still be beat.
"Paper racing is lame (I agree) and magazine numbers are conservative for a Cobalt SS" But then to say Magazine numbers on a GT are giving too much...there again... comments made that are hypocritical and one sided generalizations.
