I'm a new member from parsons WV always liked stangs and had a chance to buy a 1990 Stang LX 5.0 hardtop project car in decent shape for $500 a while back and jumped on it. This car has been used as a work car and the engine and tranny were swapped for a 4 banger pickup setup which I plan on replacing soon. I have it in a bodyshop right now having a lil side damage being repaired and a new jet black paint job being done. Money is tight so I plan on turning this car into a pure muscle car over the next year or 2.
A lil more about the car
Has chrome rims that I plan on keeping as they are a very nice look for the car.
The 4 banger in it has a very slow oil leak due to a bad bearing seal somewhere in the front of the motor.
Came with a pioneer cd player which I am going to keep and maybe ad some amps and new speakers to.
Needs minor wiring work done as the dome light short circuits when turned on and blows a fuse.
Work I plan on doing (putting alot in this dream car of mine)
Swap the 4 banger out for a nice powerful engine (undecided as to what to swap for but open to suggestions)
Swap tranny out for a T5Z
New paint (currently being done jet black with clear coat hood design to come later)
Bodywork A lil surface rust from a fender bender and a minor hole in the passenger side rear fender.
All new weatherstripping
Alot more as time goes by.
I am in no way a mechanic so I am having my brother doing most of the work as he does custom body and design work on civics and CRX's. Any imput from experience is greatly appreciated as I have more questions than answers right now.
