Thanks Ed..Kinda sad last night I was thinking about how I'm gonna have 2 houses and 3 cars so I could come up once a month..Either a 4cyl Ecoboost Stang or Fusion. Unfortunately, I don't think its a matter of if anymore, just when.

Yep thats right but the feeling everyone has is that this is temporary..Meaning they'll build staff down there then in a few years we go. The reason we are one of the few that may be staying is that we are mainframe people. It won't be easy to replace us because there are not many people that know mainframe and the majority of those that do are over 50 and will demand a higher salary. They don't teach it in colleges and the talent is drying up. Young people do not want to get into it. At our company there's only one other person younger than me and she is 35. Everyone else except a couple are in their mid 50's to early 60's.
Have to see what he says at the meeting this month. His words were that the vast majority will be 100% in Raleigh and a few will be in Raleigh and here. That may mean they are trying to build the team there while they still have us here.

Thanks Alex..I've done a ton of thinking about this and even if I have to go, I'm going to try my hardest to come home frequently. If I can afford it, I'll maintain 2 houses. The 4cyl Stang will allow me to come up and cruise/go to shows, etc..

I do installation and support of the Operating System and related software.
Well, we had a meeting today and were told unofficially that this (Troy, NY) will be the primary location for our team and NC will also be a site. They are saying its only a recommendation as of now but don't feel it will change when made official. I do have to re-apply for my job either way when the time comes probably the end of next year. Its good news I guess for now
We are the only team they are allowing this for.
So Alex, if you still want to do the trip to CA, let me know.
