well obviously if policy says he should have gotten one awhile back then hes entitled to it, but if policy doesnt say that he should get one then id go for merit.

for someone that makes $20/hr, a 1.5% increase is a little more than a free hours worth of pay every 2 weeks. doesnt sound like much, but it adds up over the course of a year.

meh.. if you make 100,000 a year and get a 1.5% raise its only 1500 a year.. not that much.. $29 a week when you are already making 2,000. upper management at most businesses are making 75k+ a year.

My boss is the owner of the company and he has never really said anything about giving raises at certain times. The company is fairly small, only about 30 people.

And our business is actually increasing, so I'm not worried about getting laid off. We bill Medicaid and Medicare for Medical supply companies and doctor offices. Because of the aging "baby boomers" we are getting plenty of business. He's actually just hired someone a month ago and put in 4 new cubicles for future employees. One lady was fired a few weeks ago but it was because of a big mistake she made, resulting in one of the major companies we bill for leaving.

And he does need me. Me and my supervisor are in control of all the filing and sending certain things to Medicare/Medicaid. One person could not do all the work without getting behind.
And why would he get rid of his minimum wage bitch boy. lol
