how does it feel to be "that guy".... you know, the one that disagrees with everything 98% of society agrees with just to do so

the full song is just epic, PERIOD... and for someone to belittle it is just "that guy" disagreeing just to disagree

1,800+ likes 28 dislikes and they made it to the finals of an entire countries talent show and signed to a record label like clockwork, when a year before they were playing background noise at weddings

It's something about "selling out"

I'm glad they found success, but the whole electric string instruments and "cool" sounding romantic style music is just too gimmicky and over produced IMO.

My buddy Sam had the opportunity to go on one of those shows, but decided not to. Now he's making it on his own, won a music competition sponsored by JC Penny and just signed to a label.

yeah, my buddy used to race offshore twin engine catamarans @ 150+MPH

I guess that means anyone who owns a scarab and hits 88MPH is boring

Music does not have to be technical to sound brilliant... food for thought

You're right, but that string quartet just lacked originality. You can write stuff 'in the style of mozart' but today, our musical traditions have progressed far beyond that. 20th century art music has opened the door for modern musicians to create more complex pieces.

Don't get me wrong I love Haydn, Beethoven, and Mozart, but guys like Stravinsky and Copland really improved upon everything developed during the romantic and classical periods.

Basically what I'm saying is, there's so much more they could've done without having to stick to that genre of "classical music" in their harmonic form (or rhythm). They're restricting themselves to fit what people expect of them. Sure they had the drum set and the electric string instruments, but was it truly interesting? In my opinion it was not. I'm not saying you're wrong in enjoying their music, or anyone is by that matter, just to me I could've used a bit more.

To agree with your above statement:

This is SIMPLE, but it is still TECHNICAL.
