Texas real estate sucks... in other parts of the country renting costs as much as buying so you are throwing away money, plus real estate usually appreciates faster than inflation. but again.. in TX they average matching inflation.. and if you have to sell at the wrong time it is frequently less than when you bought, even during a good economy.

Reasons I wanted a house instead of renting:

No shared walls.. Crank up that movie at 3am on a wed night Hellz yes.
No Landlords
My money goes towards something I own instead of never to be seen again
Renting a house like mine would cost more than buying
Put some sweat equity in my house, when it comes time to sell I should make a nice profit.
I can customize the house so that it is exactly what I want.. and that money/time I spend isn't wasted when I move, if it looks good it helps the house sell.

Reasons not to buy a house:

The housing market is unreasonably high (hasn't been the case in well over a year)
Renting is cheaper than owning - Use your saved money to invest.
You don't have the time or inclination to maintain the property properly
You intend to move frequently possibly losing money on selling the house.
You live in an area where even if you buy something you still have shared walls.

Isn't redass a mechanical engineer from MIT? he also has a 2v.. hmmmzzz...

If you have a 6' tall craftsman tool chest and you have a lot of tools in there then you have just about everything you need to do the cams. But I concur on the daily driver issue.. When my mustang was my DD I had to be careful it wasn't out of commision for long.
That was the other thing, I dont want to go tooo nuts with this car becasue I would really like a Mach 1 (I'm not driving a cobra in the winter). But then again I don't have the money to get into another car. Mine only has 53K mi on it....so that being said I will prob have this car for a good while, prob until at least 100K (bought it with 32K). My limits with this car would be cams and gears but still a comfy (with regards to how cars we can make these cars drive). My goal would be a "comfy" nice, clean car with some get-up (cams and gears)

Ive done the following:
my own sound system with 10" sub (NOT trunk rattling)
lowered 1.25"
18x9 and 18x10 black saleens
MGW
tint
UPR o/r X and magnapack CB
75mm TB and plenum

Keeping it DD friendly (includes MPG's too guys) there isn't much more, i'm just more curious on opinions to spend some money I had saved, or just keep saving.

gears will kill your mpgs if you do a lot of 60+ mph driving.. if its mostly stop and go you'll get better mpgs.. I went from getting 14-15mpg in town up to about 18-19 with gears. a lot of stop and go 25mph driving. I went down from about 26-27mpg highway to around 22-23

Every thread I have seen about gears was don't worry about it and the MPG's aren't THAT big of a diff...I never understood how that's true. I average 25ish driving normal on the highway and can get up to 27mpg.

With stock 3.27's 295/35/18" saleens I'm turning 1500rpm at 58mph and 2000rpm (where the drone/noise kicks in) at 77mph.

Going to 3.73's 1500 gets me 50mph and 2000 gets me 68mph

Going to 4.10's 1500 gets me 46mph and 2000 gets me 61mph and 2500 gets me 77mph

info per Cliffy's site:
http://paladinmicro.com/PalMFrame00.htm?wks=spd

I don't like sitting at 2000 since that's where the drone kicks in. Granted my o/r X and magnapacks do not help that (but i'm adding cats to maybe make it more bareable, and possibly even dynomat after).
