Lightbulb Stock Dicks/Picks/******

Alrighty.. instead of buying christmas presents for friends and family i'm going to invest and horde my loot.

my current favorite stock pick is OCZ technologies, (stock symbol is OCZ)

http://moneycentral.msn.com/detail/s...ote?symbol=ocz

many people recognize them for their memory and psu manufacturering.. not too long ago they had their IPO 26.67 million shares... and it only hit $6.25 a share.. it dropped to aorund $4.00 which is where i bought it.. then it slipped down to about $2.. since then it's back up around $4.00.

Now.. memory makers have been in a tight price war where most of them are barely breaking even or losing money on manufacturering them.. So why do I like OCZ so much? Because of their Solid State Drives. right now they are making some of the fastest and best solid state drives.. they are coming down in price that more and more laptops and tablets will come with them. they are smaller, use less energy and are much, much faster than regular hard drives. right now you can get a 120GB SSD that is really fast for $250. I expect that price to be cut in half in the next year.. you can get slower ones for cheaper too, which is what we'll be seeing in netbooks and tablets..

right now the big makers of these are Intel, Kingston and OCZ.. if OCZ can land some contracts they should be golden. their debt is a bit high but not anything crazy.

I would recommend purchasing it at it's current price and holding for atleast 2 years. (or you get the return you are looking for) but i think this stock in 2-3 years will be worth 5x what it's trading for now.

What are you stock picks right now?

the return of the average expert's picks is worse than investing directly in the DOW. I don't remember the timeline that was for.. over 3 years? something like that..

I have always wanted to set up one of those pretend money accounts and fool around for a while

But alas, I'm too lazy to bother

well this is just fast money experts.. but they averaged matching/being slightly below the stock market.. over 13 months

http://www.cxoadvisory.com/individual-gurus/fast-money/

i've read other articles about that too.. expert picks aren't any better than most other people's..

also note this.. most experts ability to predict the market is worse than flipping a coin. you have a 50-50 shot at it oging up or down right? one guy is right only 22% of the time.. lol.

Jim cramer comes in at just below average.. at 47%

ppl pick on him quite a bit but i think he is about as good as most of the other experts.. meaning.. not that good. The only expert I would listen to is warren buffett.. and warren buffet follows value investing.

here is more on his investing strategy:

http://www.investopedia.com/articles...782591&203x138

some other things he uses is a business difficult or very expensive to get into? airplane manufacturing, railroads.. etc fit into that. is there little or no competition? do they have a competitive advantage?

I believe OCZ being in the SSD business puts them into that category, however their debt and past performance hasn't been great..so it is a gamble.. you wont be seeing warren buffett buying this stock. but if OCZ wasn't into solid state drives I would not recommend them for certain, they would have no competitive advantage in the memory/psu market.

how many shares of berkshire hathaway do you own?

also, warren buffet is a communist-socialist-liberal, so he has no job and lives off the govmint.
