Default Dealing with drugs!

Think "IF" the masses of money wasted on the “Failed Drug War” were applied to teaching kids about addiction & providing programs immediately for "ALL" those who decide they want to get off drugs. If drugs were available at the Walmart Pharmacy with a prescription cheaply the “profit of selling drugs for drug cartels disappears"! Then we could simply treat drug addicts just as we do alcoholics! We then restrict addicts from jobs that endanger the public. “Decriminalization of Drugs” has clearly worked in other countries to reduce drug addiction & crime to support addiction! We simply have to decide whether we want to reduce drug addiction & crime... or we want to continue putting people in prison for an addiction! Which makes more sense??

The libertarian in me says legalize it all, tax the hell out of it and party 'till you choke to death on your own puke.

Part of President Trumps SOTU address was talking about how he was going to work with reducing the cost of drugs and from what I've gathered Amazon and other online giants were going to play a big part in implementing the plan.

Legalization of marijuana in CO has not been great. It comes with a host of problems like use in school, use while driving, homelessness, etc. The vast majority of the tax money collected from sales is used for education against drug use. That education is failing badly, as teen marijuana use is up like 45%.

I go back to all those settlements that the tobacco companies paid out years ago. Almost all of it went to programs to stop smoking, but have you been to a college campus lately? Everyone is smoking, whether they admit it or not when it comes time to take a poll (anecdotal evidence I know).

I agree the war on drugs is failing. Don't mistake criminalization for lack of effort by the State. Most first, second, and even third time offenders are given options of treatment and cleaning up. They choose to do a 30 day stint or whatever, because it easier than quitting.

I'm with you Mr. D. Legalize them all. don't do education against doing drugs, do education on what they do.. bring some crack heads around.. -don't waste time/energy educating against pot/cigarettes.. they cause cancer, simple as that. keep drugs at 21 years old to legally use/possess just like booze.

The Drug War is lost.
Drugs won.
Unconditional surrender.
Drug use should be mandatory.
