NO! NOT THE SUGAR!
...I need sugar to survive! Well, maybe I don't, but it makes me very......satisfied.

That's interesting. Your operation changed your vom reflex? Something I've never thought about or heard about. I get acid reflex for obvious reasons and I know what causes mine. So I can just "not overdue" things like greasy foods and alcohol. I don't have your issue, but it looks like I'll be doing some research and reading. Thanks for the post.

Oh, the reflex is there but it's like dry-heaving with the added bonus of physical pain and any half-assed drunk worth his salt knows how bad the dry heaves suck even without the pain.

So that's only an issue when you drink too much or have a random bout of food poisoning then?

There's also another procedure with magnets but I'm not sure about leaving magnets inside someone for decades.

Theres also a different procedure that uses ??? to help strengthen the LES for mild cases of GERD, they put a tube down the throat to do it.

Yeah, so far that's about it as far as side effects go that I have noticed. I've heard about the magnets and I would have like to have done that instead of the cut & wrap of the Nissin procedure because with the magnets there is some give if necessary to vomit.

I'd like to see your mom.
Whoa, whoa.... strictly for science. I'd like to scientifically see if we could conceive a Canarican.

Yeah...mom pics please.

If you are suffering from chronic heartburn / acid reflux you don't want to ***** around. Go in and they'll scope you which is where they will give you twilight anesthesia then shove a plastic horse **** thing down your throat so they can get a scope down there and take a look around. When you wake up your throat will be sore and feel like you were the guest of honor at a bukkake party.
To find out exactly how bad the reflux was they later implanted a small chip in my esophagus that measured the acid and when I thought it got really bad I'd push a button to mark the time. That lasted for three or four days then it sloughed off and exited naturally. After they got the results of that test back and saw that I was only a half-step below a fire breathing dragon was when I was finally referred to Shands.
