It looks as though the Motorcraft filter has more pleats and taller pleats making for more filter surface area.

would you want One pound of gold, or Two pounds of copper?

besides....
the cellulose does not hold more containments
it would need to be a lot bigger.

Look at the two.. The Amsoil filter has a lot more gunk trapped in it.. That says to me that it's doing the job of stoping small particulate matter through and filtering the oil..

I'm taking it that there is the same miles on each one??

to add to shady's 2nd post, the pleats dont look to be the same material. the amsoil is a much thicker pleat where the motorcraft is much more thin.

ive seen wix, ac delco & fram cut open and there were HUGE differences between them.

the fram looked like utter crap too

all were brand new never used

anti drainback is beefier...very important...and the filter/housing springs don't even compare lol being that ones not even a spring. that's before even mentioning how much better the syn media is over the cellulose.

I feel pretty good with my EaO11 under hood. I never thought the Amsoil Ea filter was worth the price until I read this post http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...1493077&page=1

I've been using amsoil SSO oil and EaO filters since 10k miles with 10k change intervals (few swaps of castrol syntec/M1 filters between 500-10k miles). The car still feels like it's breaking in at 40k, cold starts don't feel different than warm starts. Sometimes I freewheel the starter because it usually doesn't take more than a blip of the key to get her started.
