Call me crazy but I've decided to check my owners manual and follow the reccomendations. I have an 07 Mustang GT very low miles 12,400 of which Im the second owner. Its been in storage for winter but when I get it out for this spring I will use motorcraft syn. Blend 5w20, and Motorcraft FL820S Oil Filter. Can't go wrong

I prefer to use true synthetic 0W-30 to 10W-30 lubricants that are barely over the 30 grade viscosity standard. Amsoil, Royal Purple, Red Line, etc...

laughed reading this...I got all into 'oil type/brand A vs. B' in my previous car... I decided the motorcraft syn blend and filter every 5k miles was sufficient in this car when I bought it...4.5 years and 60k miles ago. no difference than if I had paid $s more over the same time period for something different

Deerborn doesnt know if I live in Arizona or Michigan.... so I always do thinner faster flowing oil in the winter and thicker heavy oil in summer. Its been -12F here in December and 111F in July soo...
10W30 winter and 5W20 in summer.
on my motor cycle I used Kawasaki brand oil and used what was called for, but later switched to Klotz racing oil. It was red and smelled like candy : )
and I simply dont trust recycled oil ....yet.

Man I am right there with you and it can sound nuts but you know what. I run all motorcraft products in my 2013 and I ran them in my 72 Mach1 before I started restoring her.
I think for me its more of a being true to Ford and all of its products sort of thing. Making it as athentic as it can be.

Should look into having oil samples tested by a lab like Blackstone to determine if that is overkill or not.
