JLT presents the Spring Break Shootout Class at the NMRA Opener
The NMRA Ford Nationals, the #1 all-Ford motorsports show in the U.S., is pleased to announce that JLT Performance is returning as the sponsor of the popular Spring Break Shootout race, contested during the NMRA Ford Nationals season-opening event at Bradenton Motorsports Park, March 1-4, 2018.
“We are proud to be sponsoring the Spring Break Shootout again this year. The fact that these cars are street driven and run the times they do is simply amazing. We look forward to watching it every year!” said Jay and Lisa Tucker of JLT Performance.
Hailed as the biggest party in Mustang drag racing, the Spring Break Shootout began in 1995. Last year, the event attracted a record number of competitors, including the QA1 True Street class as it grew to 136 entries! The easy-to-follow rules attract Mustang and Ford enthusiasts from across the U.S. and Canada and serves as the official season kick-off for Mustang drag racers.
The JLT Performance Spring Break Shootout class is a heads-up Quick 16 format race that will take place on Sunday, March 4th, 2018. The Spring Break Shootout race will be open to the quickest 16 cars that run in QA1 True Street on Saturday, March 3rd. To be eligible for the Spring Break Shootout class, competitors must meet True Street rules, compete in the True Street class on Saturday, and make all three True Street passes. The 16 competitors who have the fastest 3-pass averages will be placed on a sportsman ladder and will race heads-up on a 4/10 Pro-tree. The winner of the Spring Break Shootout will take home $800 cash, receive a prestigious Victor trophy, get to celebrate in the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle, and own the bragging rights as the class champion for one year.
