Price: 4,500 OBO

Up for sale is a black 1991 3000GT SL (Sport Luxury) hatchback. The body has 181,XXX miles on it, but it has been recently professionally repainted, buffed and has had all of the light fixtures/bulbs replaced throughout the exterior of the car. The motor, on the other hand, was swapped for a Japanese import engine (the 1993 GTO), and has approximately 42k miles on it right now. When it was installed, all of the pulleys and belts were also replaced. This motor was underrated at 230 hp from the factory in Nagoya, Japan. The car still has the Americanized ECU, so it is a tune away from another 30+ hp due to the less restrictive Japanese motor. Along with that, a VR4 transmission was added with the rear axle housings capped to allow the normally AWD transmission to be used in a 2WD car; it has around 5k miles on it. These cars also came from the factory with the ability to switch between two engine levels: power and economy. Likewise, the suspension is tunable from inside the cab, allowing the driver to switch between sport and touring settings.
As for modifications, there were general modifications added to the car: not too many and not too few. Under the hood, the resonating bottles were removed and an AEM cold air intake was added, along with a new battery and ported intake and exhaust manifolds. Other than that, a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust was installed only a few months ago, and has a great, raspy sound under WOT and a docile hum while cruising. The car has undergone timely fluid changes, always using fully synthetic Quaker State oil. It has recently had a coolant flush, and nothing in the car leaks.
Aesthetically, blacked out tail-lights and a debadged rear-end set this car apart from most other 3000GT’s. The windows were also tinted (35 sides, 20 rear), and the calipers were painted red when the pads were switched out to fully ceramic. The tires were replaced a few months ago with Goodyear American Eagles, and have 80-85% of their life left. The factory rims are displayed in the pictures, but a brand new set (uninstalled/unopened) of 18” RSL elite race wheels are included (pictures below).
The interior has seen the brunt of the modifications. A Pioneer CD player was installed to drive the Infinity 10” subwoofer in the back, along with the new Pioneer 6” (doors) and 6x9’s (rear) component speakers. A JTI Nightwatch security system was installed at a local shop to deter potential thieves, and it includes a siren, should a break-in occur. This vehicle has been owned by a non-smoker.
There are a few downsides to this car, but they nowhere near outweigh the benefits. To begin with, there is a slight paint crack on the right rear fender that is actually unnoticeable (as you can see in the pictures). Also, there is a bit of minor interior wear, the worst of which is a small tear in the driver’s seat. The last blemish on the car is on the driver’s side tail light where there is about a 1” crack.
