Hey,

I am moving out of MD to NY soon. We will be in Upstate NY were there is no emmisisons yet. I was going to modfiy my 93's exhaust and run dumps on it right before the rear axle. I was wondering if anyone has had problems with NY inspections and dumps...I know this does not actually affect the emmisions of the car but some states freak about DUMPS. ANy help would be cool since I cannot find any regs online.

I don't know about dumps, but there is emmission checks in all of NY state. I believe 96 and newer have to hook up to the ODBII computer that actually checks the emmission output. I believe that for earlier years, it's just a visual check for cats, etc.

Ok,

I just looked it up again and didn't realize I was going to get a check. In MD if you have the OBDII they plug it in but if it does not they dyno the car and check emmissions. I will save the dumps for another day....man I thought I was moving away from the emmission police!
