retrard -2 degrees for every 50 hp. thats the rule of thumb. if you spray over a 100 shot, swap out your fuel pump for a 255lpm. if not, your a/fratio maybe around 13.0at your lower rpms as i just found out recently for myself on my 03. iuse a 125 wet shot, and im getting ready to swap out my pump this weekend.DONT run without a tune, includinga dyno tune. its a very cheap insurance policy.its a very poor decision to run un-tuned, and it will end badly. its just a matter of when.BECAREFUL of who you take advice from. there are a lot of mr. know it all around....have fun!

This has long been debated. As far as I am concerned, 100 shot is the most you want to do to be reliable. You can go 125 but, as you increase, your chances of breakage do too. I have heard of going up to 150 or 175 w/ some success on factory internals. I personally, would not do that unless I had a shortblock waiting to go in and a lot of money to blow. You will have to upgrade your fuel pump too. The tune is also important. You can blow up you engine w/o a good tune at any time. The tune is critical.
As previously stated by C4, the rule of thumb is 2 degrees for every 50. Although, that is a good rule, nothing will beat a good dyno tune for YOUR application.
