i was just wondering how much hp the shaker hood kit adds to a stock 2k3 gt ........ i purchased the car with it on but dont know if it adds much hp. i am guessing around 10. looking for an exact number

Actually you would be better off going with a plastic cold air intake. Better or about the same HP numbers and a lot cheaper.

The shaker hood does look cool. Even if there is not much HP gain it's probably worth it for the classic muscle car look it adds.

I'd say it's only about 8-10 hp...the shaker really kicks in at about 70 mph...problem is with the long stretch of tubing the air has to travel through to get to the TB. That is why it draws the fender air also.

Like I said... go with a plastic CAI. Something like Densecharger.

Actually, CAI isn't that good..the restrictive mechanism of the intake is the Mass ais sensor...get a C&L mass air meter or their mass air flow...much better gains than plain cold air.

What is so restrictive about the MAM? I got the ProM 85mm with no screen or anything. I dont see how it is so restrictive! And it works great.
