My buddy has a 04 Mach 1, he wanted to buy the SLP cat back for it, but now his bright idea is to get stright pipes welded in place of his mufflers. He is getting it done on Friday. Anyone have sound clips or know how they sound????

get earplugs. i had straights on my v6 and it was deafening.

if it sounds anything like this Cobra (94-98 style) that I followed into the harbor tunnel one day it is going to be VERY loud, when this guy would hit the gas in the tunnel it would just bounce off all the walls and you had to hold your ears. Your buddy better watch out for the cops.

Well, he got the pipes welded in and it sounds horrible. It doest fit the car what so ever. It backfires all the time and sounds raspy. I wouldnt recommend anyone doing it. Now his bright idea is to go for an X-pipe. OH BOY!

So hes going to get a x-pipe, but still keep the striaght pipes? Tell him to go get some MagnaPacks he won't be disappointed

so your friend spent 30k on a car and now it sounds like poo... don't get me wrong its a cool sound to hear ONCE - but to drive around in a noise violation is pretty dumb
