Simple nitrous questions
I recetly purchased a 1999 Mustang GT Conv, 5sp. Flowmaster, 3.73, cold air. Now I need more power so Im considering nitrous. It's totally new to me. What is the difference between Wet/Dry? Should I go with the Holley kit, Zex, or the inexpensive Ny-Trex?
Thanks guys.

RE: Simple nitrous questions
A wet kit is a mixture of Fuel and Nitrous being fed through at the same spot.
If you do go wet, do a fogger system. They seem to work best.
A fogger system just goes straight through the Injectors.
And a Dry is just one line pumping just the Nitrous into the engine.
I went with Holley, but I hear NX/Zex is pretty good also.
Edelbrock makes a nice kit as well.
Also, I believe you retard the timing 1 degree for every 50 shot of N2O
and you need to run colder spark plugs
Copper prefered.
How big are you planning on going?
Oh, and this stuff is very addicting btw
Instantaneous Power, and safer than a turbo/sc!

RE: Simple nitrous questions
NX is the best in the business, with a 99 you can go wet or dry - your choice. A wet kit will use fuel and nitrous solenoids to inject the mixture together in front of your throttle body. A dry kit will inject only the nitrous and will use a device to increase your fuel pressure to get more fuel into your engine to go with the nitrous.
A fogger kit is expensive, and because you asked about an inexpensive brand I assume your on a budget. If your new to nitrous you'd be best off taking all the precautions available. I'd go with the NX kit with the Gen2 upgrade - or whatever you get at least be sure you get an rpm window switch and a wide open throttle switch. Also keep the nitrous below a 125 shot. Remember that the amount of hp shot you choose will not only put increased strain on your rods - but the more nitrous you run the tougher it is to get a good safe a/f ratio and without forged pistons you don't have much forgiveness for having a bad tune.
Remember if you do get a wet kit if you hit that button and get that nitrous running with low manifold pressure (low rpm and low throttle) fuel may puddle then you get a big boom... you'll be pickin out pieces of your intake from your hood.
