The process of coating them is what makes them more expensive...
They emit less heat in the engine bay and keeps engine temps down = more hp = longer engine life (stretching it)...
Basically it keeps underhood temps down.

Look at the signature of the guy who posted above you... most of the guys here who do major mods (go all the way to a S/C) use the ceramic coating... any heat you can save is going to be a good thing in the engine compartment.

Definatly go ceramic. Some people actualy fry wiring and some accessories due to not having the ceramic coating on. In the long run you will prolly end up cooking somthing under the hood if you settle with the regulars.
