Opinions needed, exhaust sounds horrible during light throttle in AOD fox
Well idk if this is common or not. First time with flowmaster mufflers on aod car, it has shorty headers and o/r h pipe. Sounds fine under moderate acceleration and wot. But under light throttle or low rpm shifts, it sounds horrible. Like a old diesel truck. Hard to explain, just sounds hollow and like crap. Now idk if its just how these mufflers sound on a aod 2.73 geared fox at low rpms. I had an auto before and it had mac flowpaths and with stock h pipe, and o/r h pipe it always had a nice deep tone.
Had an exhaust shop check for leak a few months back, they found none. I do not have the smog pump pipe welded to the small pipe at the h-pipe, not sure if that can cause this.
Any info on what to check for, will help thanks

An AOD with 2:73's, how can you even drive it lol. A set of 3:73's or 4:10's would help that exhaust out tremendously.
On a more serious note: does the car seem to run okay, is it really sluggish, just thinking of plugged cats.
Edit: Never mind, just reread the O/R h-pipe part.

Ya the 2.73s in an auto does suck. However 80mph at 2k rpms on hwy cruising isn't bad.
But the car seems to run fine and strong. Just at light throttle at low rpm it sounds horrible. Until u put some load on it and has it a bit
