BBK vs. MAC OR/H

BBK vs. MAC OR/H
I crawled under putting in a new E-brake lever and saw a BBK OR/X. Muffler shop put on new polished aluminum OE-style tips and said the mufflers are Flowmaster. The tubing appears to be 3 inches. I hate the raspy crackling pop that it has when RPMs drop from a rev or gearing down. The volume does not bug me at all but it sounds like it has a sore throat
I've been reading for quite a few weeks here and there and the OR/X seems the be the culprit. Every sytem I've heard with one regardless of muffler turns me off. Would going to an OR/H fix most of this? Is there a real difference between a BBK OR/H or MAC OR/H? I do not intend to put headers on the car.
Also, there seems to be a bumble-bee raspy noise under load near the floor boards. It almost sounds like a leak and it can only be heard inside the car. I'm hoping it is just the X?

RE: BBK vs. MAC OR/H
From what I've read in other threads the H pipe will give you a more mellow tone than that X, which I do know from experience does tend to be a bit raspy. I wouldn't imagine there would be much difference in the BBK or the MAC, but hopefully some other members who have each will put in there inputs as far as fitment and tone are concerned.

Thank you all for your input. Once it gets above freezing I'm going to get back underneath and verify everything before ordering a new H. The reason I ask about the MAC vs. BBK is because I have a gift card to O'Reilly and I could only find the BBK on their Website.

I think this is going to be a headache [:@] I checked underneath (getting road crud, salt, and slush all over myself in the process) and I see coming off the headers what appears to be 3" pipe to just before the mufflers. There is a BBK X-shaped midpipe welded to the new pipe then it bolts what looks like smaller 2.5" rusty tubing into two mufflers then out the back to my new tips. Before I order anything I'm going to have to take it to a muffler shop to figure out what the heck is pieced together under there. I see no cats but rear sensors are in place so maybe they are MILs?
I knew I should have bought a completely stock Mustang instead of cleaning up somebody else's mess. It's been fun swapping out the cue-ball shift handle, removing the window tint strip, getting two windows re-tinted because of poor tint, replacing the drop-in K&N with a FIPK, and eventually putting a set of 4 matching tires on...[sm=bangbang.gif]
