Default 13.5 v6



Looking to mod my mustang to get it to run 13 and a hale in the 1/4</P>


Its a 98 v6 automatic runs 17.4at 78 mph 1/4 mile</P>


I want it to run 13.5 or so</P>


I dont want a v8 for insurance reasons</P>


I dont want another cor for the fact that I completely own this one</P>


I dont know if its possible with a 98 but I ran into a guy at the track that had a 13.4 v6 stang, had to be a 2000 and up</P>


What ET would nitrous give me, say a 50-75 shot?
What mods do I absolutely need to accomplish this?</P>


Money is no object</P>


But only to 13.5!!</P>

min. of 200 pounds off car
drag radials with light rims
skinnies on front
75 shot
stall convertor and shift kit
headers,exhaust
longer rockers
4:10 gears
90-10..50/50 shocks
bigger maf/ram air
computer chip on some kind
4 gallons of gas @ the most in car
aluminum driveshaft
tubelar a-frames
you'll be there
looking at 2k if your thrifty

take off the catalytic and turbo it ....ha</P>


it would sound pretty darn good too, but don't expect to pass too many emmisions... it's a quick way to reach the 12's.</P>

supercharge that v-6, I've seen a v-6 running high 13's with 9 psi on a vortech charger.

4.1s (150), Limited slip differential (250),Try and get 99+ Heads and Throttle body - Then port and polish whatever you end up with (600+), 2.25" true duals (no H pipe needed) (250), Headers (240), Pulleys (100), Lose the spare tire+jack, 10"s + in the rear, skinnies up front (stock works for the drag strip), chip (solves gearing issues also) (250), and if that doesnt cut it, 50hp NOS (600).. If you still have problems then, Cams + roller rockers (500).. and if that doesnt do it add in this combo.. ATI procharger, 11psi 2 stage, Big intercooler, high flow fuel pump, bigger fuel injectors (3500) and drop the NOS until you have redone internals - If you did this right you could run low 13s easily. ~~~~~ Those 99+ Split Port Injection heads and the bigger t-body could help a lot, look into them for sure, and be careful with NOS, 100 is definitely know to blow our engine, and its even happened with less thanks to fuel issues.

Not to be mean but you may be needing a new engine if your car runs 17.4.

lol Well what you could just do is buy a V8 and replace your v6 with it. I would just do whatever is the most simple for you if money is no object. In that case I would go V8 because you wouldnt have to tell them that its a V8, would they ever ask ? But ya if you only ever want just a 13.5 mabye moding the V6 is the way to go.</P>

id swap in a v8. i dont know if this is right so some vaildate this. that insurence looks at the vin # and it says its a 6 cylinder so you get the insurence of a 6 cylinder even though you put a v8 in it. for the money ur gunna spend to bring it down 4 1/2 seconds i woulk swap in a litely modded v8, tranny, rearend and call it a day<IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">
