question on nitrous cams
Most tuners will tell you that a cam with a bit longer exhaust duration work better for N2O engines. For example, I run a solid roller .696/.683 and @.050 it has .278/.286 duration. The lobe seperation should also be a bit wider. 110-112 is preferred for a nitrous cam. This is because a nitrous engine receives such a lot of fuel and oxygen because of the supercooled high density intake charge. This also has an impact on compression, but not too any major degree. So.. a bit longer duration and opening the exhaust valve a bit earlier is key. The drawback? N/A the car will not not perform as well. So you have to choose up front. N2O or no N2O.
Comp Cams makes a wide selection of off the shelf N2O cams, but if a custom solid roller, you might spend $350.00 to $450.00.
Mine is off the shelf. $300.00 Works well.
