Twin Turbo 289!?!
I have 1967 fastback with a stock 289 that I am looking to do a Twin Turbo set up on. I was wondering what all I needed to upgrade while doing a rebuild to ensure it can handle the extra HP? When done id like to be some where around 450 HP. Also an suggestions on the tubo set up would be great. I know there are a few guys with turbos on here. Im setting the car up for the track and street. Thanks.

if your goal is only 450hp i would go to the junkyard and grab a complete 302 from a foxbody (92 or older for forged pistons). do a mild rebuild on it (rings, bearings, good head gaskets, arp head studs) and then do the turbo kit. a stock 5.0 with a turbo will make 400-450rwhp (depending on the boost level) and have no problem holding that power for a long time. just make sure you have a good safe tune on it.
i wouldnt build a twin turbo kit if your goal is only 450hp. youd have better luck, and save some money, with a single turbo kit. look into On3 performance, they have a 5.0 kit for about $2000 that will support your hp goal. spend some time at theturboforums.com in their turbo carb section, they can set you up with what you need to tune the motor once its all together

twins isnt very different.
head over to theturboforums.com and see if you can get the response you want. i cant imagine a stock 289 holding 450hp but im not familiar with the motor
