X-pipe cats question...

First off I want to say that I am new to the site. I was on SVT performance, none of those guys ever answered any of my questions (if your cobra isn't heavily moddified they will ignore your questions)... Anyways here is my problem...

I bought an 03 cobra a month ago and the only mod was an o/r x-pipe (weird to be the only mod). Naturally the dealership couldn't sell me the car without cats, so they welded 2 cats on the x pipe (Since then, I have added a steeda catback). What I need to know is, I'm sure they just welded on some generic cats... the type cats you would put on any car, not specifically made for a sports car... how restricted are these regular cats vs. high flow cats??? I really don't car about emissions... I care about restriction/sound only (and I don't want the engine light to be on either).... what should I do, leave the current cats, or look into getting high flow cats?????

first and foremost.....welcome to our site! and secondly, congrats on your cobra, you must love it.

IMHO, swap the midpipe for an o/r X or an o/r H.....you will be much happier than a half ass hack job just to pass emissions done by the dealership. To turn the light off, get an SCT Xcal.

Tune/X or H/pulley/CAI/Catback and enjoy the hell out of it!!!

You aren't going to see a huge difference between the cats they welded in and high flows. Will there be a difference, yes. Is it worth the time and expense, probably not.
