Default Question about Vortech Pulley size and boost. Is anyone

running a 3.125 pulley with a front mount intercooler. I have 10 lbs boost now, and would like to keep 10-12 lbs even after the FMIC is that the correct pulley... It is a 6 rib system, should I be slip free, going from stock to 3.125 thanks Brian

im confused. You said you have a 3.125" pulley making 10 psi correct? Are you saying that is without the intercooler? And now you want to know if you will still make 10-12 lbs of boost once you install a FMIC? and what do you mean from stock to 3.125? What size is your stock pulley?

I'm having trouble understanding your question.

If this helps, I have a FMIC makin 7.76 (max) lbs of boost w/ a 3.6" Pulley

a 3.33" pulley w/ FMIC made ~ 9 lbs of boost

so that would mean 3.125 should net you about 10 lbs like you want. I wouldn't expect more then that though. Unless u add a power pipe (if you dont have one)

Default My fault, yeah I have a stock 3.60 pulley, making 10 lbs. Non IC

I do have an anderson Power Pipe, but I just purchased a 32x12x3 FMIC.. A vortech Mini Race Bypass.. With these mods I made 360, I want to drop to a 3,250 or 3,125 pulley. up my timing and my fuel, and keep the boost around 10-11.. Do you think I can add 30 HP with doing these mods.. Thanks... is the cam worth it.. are your internals Forged? Thanks again Brian

im hitting 10-11 lbs of boost with a 2.95 pulley, stupid restrictive intercooler. I saw 12 lbs non intercooled with a 3.33.

its not that the intercooler is restrictive, its that its extra space that has to be pressurized, a LOT of extra space. think about how much added tubing and IC space you have compared to the stock discharge pipe. it takes more effort to pressurize a larger area.

Default Bru? what kind of power are you making now?

I am assuming the 377 is without the IC and 2.95 pulley?

Yes. I made 377 rwhp and 370 rwtq with 3.60 pulley (10lb peak) and it was non-intercooled. I plan on getting back to the dyno next week sometime for new numbers. I just wanted to go through everything again one more time before i commit to it. I also added cats to the car because of moving to VA for emissions and inspection so I am curious to see how they affect it too.

just for reference my car makes ~10psi with a 3.125 pulley and a FMIC. when I had a 3.33 pulley it would make 8 lbs intercooled and 10 non-intercooled. I tested it back to back days a few summers ago.
