600 rwhp?? what road to take?
Hey guys, i have the setup in my sig. Im running 8lbs of boost currently. Im on the stock bottom end right now. My question to you fellows is some suggestions on where to go from here to achieve my goal of 600rwhp. I already know that i need to get a forged bottom end. What advantages are there to going with a stroker bottom end such as a 302 stroker? I will be installing a meth kit when the new bottom end is installed. Just kinda want to get some ideas of configurations to go with to achieve my goal. I have about ten thousand set back to get this done so keep that in mind also. JMS performance in Lucedale, Ms will be doing the work for me on whichever road i take. Thanks in advance for the advice.

one thing to keep in mind is that if you are having a shop do the work for you, you have to take 50% of that money (if not more) and put it for labor....that being said
You will definitely need forged internals like you stated, and if you are running stock PI heads/cams/intake it will help if you get some headwork (MMR, Foxlake, MHS, etc) and some custom grind blower cams. There are guys using the stock PI manifold and pushing rediculous numbers, but I personally run an Edelbrock Vic Jr and have had great results. Dont forget all ARP hardware while your in there as well(headstuds, mainbolts, rod bolts 2000). From there you should really up the boost on your KB, and take advantage of the motor, meth is a great idea or some sort of i/c setup. And most importantly dont forget FUEL. For 600rwhp, dont be afraid to go overkill on fuel because eventually you will want even more than that, and you wont have to worry about it again. I feel I did a very successful build on mine, and my numbers are through an auto with no meth yet and could only take the car to 5800 because of the converter on a little SI trim

I have had several people reccomend the gt 500 fuel system as it is a perfect fit and finish product and it is proven. i was def considering custom blower cams but if possible i want as close to stock drivability as i can get, if thats even possible. As far as the heads and intake, do i need to just buy a set of replacement heads or get the work done to mine? which is better? and also i realize that a good portion of the money will be going towards labor, i have budgeted for no more than 13 thousand so thats why my goal was say 10 thousand cause there is always little gremlins that come along and cost ya more. ha
keep the configurations comin guys. thanks

not sure what all is included with gt500 kit, but my fuel setup is sumped tank, dual walbro 300lph inline fuel pumps, inline fuel filter, 8 feed lines, edelbrock rails, 60# injectors, adjustable fpr, all a/n fittings. My system is barely breathing even at 600hp. What is included in the gt500 kit? The reason I recommend custom grind cams is because they will be specifcally ground for your application (obviously). An off the shelf grind would do, but for the same exact price why not get a set made specifically for what ya need? With headwork, I sent my stock PI heads to MMR and they did the work to them, I also sent them my Eddie Vic Jr to be port matched. For $1200, they did a Stage 3 port/policy, comp valve job, installed my cams/valvesprings, port matched manifold. great deal if you ask me
