is there any way to stiffen an 03-04 cobra's irs enough where it works just as good as a live rear axel, cause ive heard a live rear axel is a very rough and unenjoyable ride.

To answer your question, you can buy the IRS brace and bushings and that will allow you to run it a lot harder from a dig and will definetly give you better traction because it wont flex as hard.

RE: 03 cobra suspension
There are a number of products that are aimed at doing this.
From what I hear, the kenny brown setup is the mother of them all and it's pretty darn expensive but it's supposedly the best irs set up, bar none. It's also the only that actually replaces the upper and lower control arms (not just bushings).
Kenny Brown's website is crap and continuously under construction so you're best off searching google for more information. Here is an article I found:

Steeda has some kind of roll steer kit and some bushings and brakets:

Maximum Motorsports has a bunch of stuff that are all summed up in these kits: (http://www.maximummotorsports.com/giabIRS.asp
The links below currently do not have IRS setups (to the best of my knowledge) but could in the future since they are known for their live axel setups:
Griggs Racing: http://www.griggsracing.com/
Evolution motorsports: http://www.evolutionmsport.com/

Can you still run low 9 sec quarters with the stiffened irs. You do have a point that it basically is a live axel whaen you stiffen it that much...so which for the money and power, do you think id be better off with? The kenne brown seemed real good that it was also 40% lighter.

RE: 03 cobra suspension
From my understanding, the kenny brown owns all. I've heard that under certain sanctioned events, it doesn't qualify for some reason, (i'm paraphrasing stuff I've read elsewhere so correct me if I'm wrong people), which is why you typically hear more about live-axels tearing it up.
Lets put it this way, if I had a huge budget, I'd probably swap out my live-axel for the Kenny Brown IRS.
