I have shorty headers O/R H-Pipe and 2 chamber flow masters. A buddy of mine has stock manifolds O/R X-Pipe and 2 chamber flowmaster on a 04 Mach I. why is his so much louder than mine? and for my car what would be a little bit louder than what i have. i have 10 series flowmaster on my truck and its just to much for the car. any ideas?

its because of the motor!!! Those Mod motors will always sound in my opinion...(perfect)!!! I dont think any pushrod motor sounds as good as a mod.., so any easy terms goodluck getting the same sound! Now if you had a mod car wanting the 5oh sound all you would do is put turndowns!

I like a super quiet exhaust that flows but thats me. You want noise go with a straight thru muffler.

yea i know mine will never sound the exact same as the 4.6. i was just curious about why it was so much louder.

As loud as you want.., but you will prob loose power if you do so!

i know i can make it as loud as i want i can redo the exhaust and run straights out behind the front tire if i want to. i was asking what is a muffler that is a little bit louder than the original 40 series flowmaster other than the 10 series because thats to loud.

My car had the exact same exhaust as the op shorties h pipe and 40 series out the back when I bought it. You could hear the car but it was quiet as crap!! Now I have bbk long tubes. Dr. Gas x-pipe and mac flow path mufflers and its 10 times louder with IMO a much better tone than before.

But usually mod motors are louder and they do sound great! But if you wanna get louder and sound better swith to a good x-pipe and see how it does then maybecswitch mufflers
