Default 2.5" vs 3" Exhaust

Basically all I want to know is a rough horsepower estimate where its a good time to upgrade to 3" pipe. I have a 2.5" x on the car now, but I have a fully built 393 stroker going into the car in the near future. I've searched BBK, Bassani, and Mac but haven't found a 3" h/x pipe.

Thanks for any help

No real # to upgrade to 3in.. I had full 3in exhaust on my 347.. As far as 3in x pipes I bought an x pipe kit from summit and had to make my own.

Thats what I was thinking about doing. I know it comes down to cam/valves/headers etc etc etc all depends on air. I've searched for the past 2 hours for a 3" mid pipe O.o

I've always tended to stay away from the summit brand line of parts, but for just over $100 those pipes caught my eye. Did you run into any fitment issues at all? Do they flow/sound good? The material is mild steel so I might have to have them coated for rust protection.

Fit well and sounded good. My exhaust was all slip fit so it was simple to do.

I like summit parts. They are made at the same factories as the brand name stuff. they just have the summit label on them.
