Default header help

I want to buy some headers for my sn95 5.0, i need some freshing up on header info, as in i want towards high end, is that long tube, shorties, 1.625 primaries etc. also if i do go to long tube i am leaning towards bbk 1519, and my pony is lowered and i wanted to make sure that they wouldnt be a problem.

Long tubes will make more power, but do hang lower. I ran BBK long tubes for years, avoided speed bumps like the plague, and still would occasionally drag them on something (my 89 was lowered maybe an inch). I run Kooks now, and they're even lower.... 1.625 are the best size for most cars. 1.5 works better for near stock engines, and bigger might work better if you plan to surpass roughly 400hp. Ceramic coating helps a lot, it holds in some heat. If you go shorty, equal length are not really worth the hassle (I had equal length, and speak from my experience).

Alright well is there a nice set of mid length out there. if there is I cant see to find any. Also i m going to try and push 325 ta 350 to the whels, which would be about 400 or so fly wheel. 1.75 to big? also do you recomend any brands?

Unless this car is only for the track, I'd stay 1.625 at that level. You could go 1.75, and gain a little top end power, but you'll likely give up more low end torque than it's worth for a street car. Bassani makes a mid length of the 4.6, but I'm not sure I've seen them for the 5.0.

what does not running egr do to your vehicle, doesnt it just make your ride a little smoother, and if i wanted to take that off than what exactly should i do? i gotta have a smog delete correct? also i would have to somehow block off the spot in th intake manifold where the egr would normally go right?

I'd use the BBK's in a 1.625" size, long tubes.
I have some on my car and the workmanship/quality is great, not priced bad either.......
