Automatic Exhaust Cutouts
Hey guys I havent been on here in a long time. I need some help though. I want to make an Automatic Exhaust Cutout. I've seen some electric ones but they're like $500 and something. Do you guys know of a way that I can make these myself?

RE: Automatic Exhaust Cutouts
Well it is a 88 5.0 lx. I have 3" exhaust going all the way out the back, with flowmaster mufflers on it. Headers, xpipe, all that. I want to be able to pull up to a red light and hit a switch and boom they open up. I didnt want to spend alot of money but I see that anything automatic is going to cost alot. I hear the mr. gaskets leak alot.
What do you guys think?

RE: Automatic Exhaust Cutouts
my buddy used the QTP (quick time performance) ones and the electric part broke after a few days. not worth it to get. he just uses the cut-out all around without putting the cut-out part back it. so instead of spending the big bucks and look through JEGS' website or catalog and get the $30 dollar one and you'll be allset. but yeah they are pointless to have anyways.

RE: Automatic Exhaust Cutouts
Well I dont see them as a waste of time. Its an awesome sound for them things to be open. Ever since I cranked my car with just headers on it. I've been looking for a way to do this. I saw the qtp's they look cheap compared to the other ones. The DMH's seem to be the ticket. They have a 4 year warranty. Has anybody used these?
