Exhaust install

Just ordered a new magnaflow catback. Should I have it professionally installed or can I do it myself. Should it be welded or can I use the clamps it comes with? Thanks for any advice!!!

you'll just have to cut the old one off. the new one will bolt right on in it's place. shouldn't be that hard for you.

Install it yourself to save the money. But the clamps may not hold the pipe very well. After you get it all in, go to a muffler shop and have them take off the clamps and weld the pipe. Probably cost $25. I had to do this with my flowmaster setup after about a week because the pipes were slipping out where they were clamped in.

Thanks for the advice! Last month everyone was talking big about Magnaflow, now all I hear is that it's really quiet. Anyone have an opinion?

i have loudmouth 2s. magnaflows are quiet at idle and cruising around. not much louder than stock. they come alive when you get on the gas hard.

yeah definitely do it yourself. just know that the pipe that goes over the rear end can be a pain. and do not tighten everything down until everything is in place. if you bend your pipes with the clamps and then have to re-do it, youll be in a whole new world of frustration.
