Default GEAR UPGRADE? 3.73 OR 3.90 IN MY 05 GT?

HI EVERYONE I AM BRAND NEW TO THE SITE, THANKS FOR HAVING ME. I HAVE A 2005 MUSTANG GT. NAMED "1BADD05" LOL ANYWAYS SO FAR THE MODS I HAVE DONE ARE: PYPES OFFROAD H-PIPE, FLOWMASTER 40 MUFFLERS, THROTTLE BODY SPACER, K&N COLD AIR INTAKE,AND PLENTY OF BODY MODIFICATIONS & INTERIOR MODS. BUT MY QUESTION TO EVERYONE IS FIRST OF ALL WHAT IS THE BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 3.73 & 3.90 GEARS IN MY MUSTANG? WHICH WOULD YOU RECOMMEND & WHY? WANT TO GET THE GEAR DONE BEFORE WINTER COMES AND DON'T KNOW WHICH ROUTE TO GO? ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! THX AGAIN

Noone does 3.90 because most tuner companies have settings for the 3.73 and the 4.10 but not the 3.90. Also for doesn't make 3.90 so you have to go with motive or someone else and there has been complaints on whine and noise. I think it is just a more difficult install with the aftermarket 3.90 but a good shop should be able to get them in with out any noise.

um, motives arent any noisier than FRPP, if ya know what in the world you're doing. or take em to a shop that can install gears. the biggest difference performance wise, 3.73s arent a favorable naturally aspirated ratio. sure, its better than the 3.55, but not enough to really enjoy the price. 4.10's on the other hand, are great naturally aspirated gears, but you end up sacrificing your fuel economy, just a wee bit of ride quality, and the rpms stay high so its a bit noisy. 3.90's fall into a category for a gran tourismo. you can have your fuel economy, as it only raises approx 485 rpm at cruising, but its still enough uummppphh to gain lower your e.t. noticably. really, its considered the ultimate "street/strip" gear, but not by americans. motives are great gears. just ask any italian supercar.

oh, p.s. who give s a crap what a tuner company says they'll do? if you have an SCT / Diablo, you can change what your gear ratio is when you install their tune. the tune is gear specific son, just the speedo. the only reason it matters is so your actual mph meets what your speedometer is reading. the tune is in the engine. if you get 35 hp off the dyno, you wont lose it just because you change gears.

5 speed 4.30s, cause the t-3650s 5th gear is .68 and with a 27" tall tire will be turning around 2800 rpms at 80 mph

auto- 4.10s will still turn around 3000 rpms in 5th gear with a 27" tall tire but also needs to make up for the softer launch of the auto

btw, the 4.6s are modular motors, meaning they need to rev to make power
