Default BMR LCA Install questions

Hey all...I'm about to install my BMR LCA's, and need to know which end the offset goes. Does the offset go towards the front or rear of the car? Also, I've got litium grease...will this do? Last, I've heard of people over-greasing their LCA's and causing issues? Is one pump of the grease gun really enough?

Thanks folks...

I wouldn't use anything but silicone based grease with urethane bushings myself. I've heard other types can cause decomposition of the bushings.
I'd give BMR a call before using the Lithium based grease just to be sure. If you do call to find out their recommendation you should post it here for the record. Don't they actually offer a 14 oz. tube specifically for their fittings?

Default RE: BMR LCA Install questions

Lithium is OK, so long as it is in a silicone base.

All greases are composed of two things: an "oil" plus a thickener (and sometimes small amounts of additives, like moly). Lithium is a thickener. It is inert, so it won't harm the polyurethane. However, some lithium greases are also oil-based, and the OIL will harm the poly.

So: Oil/lithium grease = bad. Silicone/lithium = OK.

I have heard from BMR, Prothane, and Energy Suspension to only use silicone-based greases. I bought a cartridge of it from BMR for use on my car.
