RE: Dealer refuses to re-nstall TPMS on new rims
Sounds like a bait and switch , screw job to me,
If they yanked the 18"'s on me I would have torn up every piece of paper I signed and walked out.
Come in every three days on warranty complaining of a "strange noise in the rear end at 54.5 MPH when entering 4th gearand taking a right in warm weather" then take the mechanic on a long *** drive trying to reproduce the noise. Theywill be losing about $180/hr while you drive around. You will have plenty of time to call to explain to the Manager and District Manager on the phone that you deserve a car that works as exactly designed and displayed, stop for beer, and pick up your laundry before returning the mechanic, make up some excuse that the car has to idle for 5 minutes to reproduce the problem. I bet they give in after the first test drive and you will be back on 18"s with the tps working..... Don't sign off on any repairs, that way they can't get paid on the warrenty repair...

I installed 18x10 DD with 295/45/18's with tires on my 07'GT that were 1 1/2" larger in overall diameter. The tire installer swapped out the sensors onto the new wheels and the computor never tripped or had a fault.
The dealership knows that the sensors should be installed. Its one of the new Fed safety regulations for 07'.
