Default Suspension Fastener Part Numbers

Since Ford helped us out so much with the one time use fasteners for the suspension and the dealerships charge so much I have decided to create a list of the part numbers for the fasteners for each suspension component so that you can search places like fordparts.com and maybe get a better deal on the parts. But my list is incomplete as of yet. So can everyone help me out on this? If you know the part numbers for places I am missing then please post them and I will add them to the list in this post then maybe if we get a complete list we can sticky it. Please help me fill in the blanks...

For the Rr Shocks Ford only lists Service Kit #18008 which includes the shocks. This means that the lower mount bolt and nut are not available seperately. Most shock supplers provide the upper bushing, washer and nut. The lower bolt and nut will need to be re-used. The torque spec is 85 lb-ft. One should probably use Blue Locktite.

Front Struts:
Strut to Wheel Spindle Bolt (4) W709870.
Strut to Wheel Spindle Flag Nut (4) W711091. Torque to 148 lb-ft.
Strut Upper Mount Nut (8) W520112. Torque to 26 lb-ft.

Front Swaybar:
Stabilizer Bar Link Upper Nut (2) W520214. Torque to 85 lb-ft.
Stabilizer Bar Link Lower Nut (2) Same as above.
Stabilizer Bar Bracket Nut (4) W520213. Torque to 52 lb-ft.

Nice list Ponyman. Thank you for the work. I'll keep an eye out for what's left, but for now I have the following.

The brake caliper related bolts are also listed as those wonderful one-timers with which the rest of the car is put together...oh, joy. I've got the numbers for the front only.

Front Brake Caliper:
Caliper to Caliper Bracket: 6R3Z2B134-B Qty: 4 (incl. rubber boots/slides)
Caliper Bracket to Steering Knuckle: W710233-S439 Qty: 4 (though priced individually)

Where did you get the infromation saying that the bolts are a one time use only? I need to be able to show that information to a Dealership. They told me to reuse the bolts when I change out the UCA, LCA, panhard bar, and the rear sway bar. They said to reuse the stock ones with loctite on them. They said thats what they would do if they were doing the install on the suspension parts. They would not automatically switch to new bolts. They told me they have no documentation about them being one time use bolts. I need to show them that information if I can get it. Thanks.

Hey 1550GT,

I'll see if there is a more direct claim I can find (like "Part number XXXX-YY, one time use only"), but for now I can tell you that in the factory service manual (the one your dealership should have) in the proceedures sections it states "remove and discard" for these bolts, and if memory serves me well it also states "use new bolts," but I'll have to double check that last part.

That said, when I talked to my parts guy, he was surprised that the brake bolts were one-time use, and he also recommended that I just use blue loctite. His suspicion was that the "one-time" use was in reference to the applied thread locker that comes on the new bolts. However, I know folks like F1fan have done assorted tests on (at least some of) these bolts, and found some failure issues after 2 or 3 cycles.

Best,
-j

Added a bunch of part numbers to the list today...

For those that don't know...www.tituswillfordparts.com has all of this at much much less than the stealership....However, there is a trick to most of these part numbers on their website....you have to put a dash in front of the number to find it....however to keep it interesting some (aka the ones that don't start with a "W" don't need it)..

As I get the rest and double check that the numbers are valid I will post them up

I agree that this is really useful information.

Do the Tokico D-Specs come with new fasteners. If not would it mean ordering;
Rear Shocks:
Axle Bolt: W709878-S439 Qty: 2
Axle Nut: W710436-S900 Qty: 2
Upper Nut: 4R3Z-18197-AA Qty: 2

Front Struts:
Strut-to-Wheel bolt: W709870-S439 Qty: 4
Strut-to-Wheel nut: W711091-S900 Qty: 4
Linkage Nut: N8071440-S440 Qty: 4
Upper Nut: W520215-S440 Qty: 2
Strut Cap Nuts: W520112-S440 Qty: 8

Please confirmthat the quality of the fasteners available from alternate sources match the OEM parts. Considering where these are used and the consequences of failure this is important to know.

Yes plus if you are putting rear springs in, I think you need to disconnect the rear sway bar to get the axle to drop enough, so you need to decide which to disconnect..
