Default Whine after LCA install

Ever since I installed my J&M LCAs, I now hear a faint whine when going 60-80 mph (esp while my foot on the gas). It's not that bad but definitely noticeable. The whine sounds like it's coming from the rear end.

I did not change my gears but can aftermarket LCAs possibly cause thewhining?

Maybe you changed the pinion angle by accident? Were they adjustable LCA's?

Yep, the LCA's WILL transmit alot more noise. That's the price you pay, better get used to it. It will be slightly less with space frame LCA's like the Steeda's but it will still be there.

+1 the LCAs transmit more of the road noise and vibrations to the frame.... and you can hear it....

+2

I noticed it right away, even at lower speeds its audible. But not bad, worse when rear seats are down. It is rather hard to hear over the exhaust tho.

So the noise should sound like faint "whining"?

I just want to make sure it wasn'tthe pinion angle that I change accidentally. I have non-adj. LCAs.

It might have been a good idea to get the adjustables since you are lowered.
I installed the rear roush springs and drove for a year with no issues. Got the adjustable LCA's to make sure pinion angle was good. It was within limits, but I adjusted to where I wanted it.

The ones you got have poly ends I assume.
Someone correct me if Im wrong, but shouldnt those be fairly quite? vs rod ends.

I have the J&M non-adj LCAs w/ patent pending poly-ball bushings. I read from various forums that they are quiet like stock and peform well. I just wan't expecting the whine after I installed them I guess.

if you are hearing a whine over the stingers then something else is going on IMO....any noise added from installing LCAs shouldnt be heard over something like the stingers, stock exhaust maybe....

With the poly bushings, you are definately going to hear and feel everything now... If it bothers you that much I would get some dynamat...
