Drop Top body flex, any cures ?
 

I know that the verts have more weight and a less rigid body which is a bad combo for the corners but is anything out there that will cut down on the body flex in corners. Have seen a few items but many such as those sold by Steeda are not applicable for the convertables. For those here who have drop tops, can you stiffen up the body to compete with hard tops? Where to start?
Do want a drop top but need to ascertain if I can do enough to get a good carver from a vert.

Hi, The '05+ convertibles do have the stock subframe connectors not found on coupes.

My strut tower brace made a difference in the front. Also look into the Steeda G-track brace or CHE K-member brace.

The concern I've always hadvert is that if things get really nastyit is better to have a roof over your head. I know that it is a small risk but if you are corner carving hard, either on or off a track, there is always the possibility.

I think to flip the Mustang, you'd need to launch it off a ramp or incline.

I worked for a towing company while in college. I did an accident where a girl rolled her sebring convertible, it landed wheels up and she was still underneath it. It was a slow roll over, she hit the rear corner of a car turning in front of her and it catapulted the drivers side of her car in the air, rolling over onto the passenger side, but as you can imagine she was hurt pretty bad.

But if you can get some subframe connectors that will help. I know for the sn-95 and the Fox body guys a roll bar helps alot too.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the vert's are almost as stiff as the hardtops because the car was designed first as a vert. Your really not going to see Body flex out of this thing like you did on SN95's and Fox Bodies. The guys who are caging their S197's are doing it strictly for safety, and not stiffness.
