Default What suspension upgrades to help straight acceleration?

I may seem like a newb, but what would be some good suspension upgrades to gain traction under deep straight acceleration? I'm gonna get a Stage 2 or 3 Brenspeed Saleen SC, so I think I'm gonna need more traction. I plan on buying KDWIIs later on. Thanks!
Edit: I have an 06' Convertible

Hi Fleron230,

Drag tires, Steeda adjustable Comp UCA/UCA mount,Steeda fixed tubular LCA's,Steeda weld-in LCArelocation brackets,QA1 single adjustable front anddouble adjustablerear dampers, front anti-roll bar disconnected. This is a good start and will make your 60' time drop like a stone.

Ok, thank you very much. I can't seem to find the QA1 single adjustable front and double rear dampers anywhere, do you know where they sell them? How would removing the front anti-roll bar help at all, wouldn't it ruin my turns? And this is what you recommended, right?:

Based on what I have previously seen from F1Fan for the UCA and mounthe would probably suggest 555-4109 poly/rod with mount http://www.steeda.com/products/adjus...ontrol_arm.php

and for the LCA it would be 555-4422 http://www.steeda.com/products/steed...ntrol_arms.php

Hi Fleron230,

For the QA1 stuff and a bunch of other really good drag oriented suspension stuff look at BMR Fab's site here: http://www.bmrfabrication.com/2005MustangSUSPENSION.htm The BMR Fab folks make some of the best mass produced drag oriented suspension stuff there is. Not as good as Steeda for road course work but on the strip BMR ishard to beat for the money.

The adjustable Competition UCA from Steeda is PN#555-4109this is the best UCA setup on the market. The Steeda tubular LCA's with poly bushings are non-adjustable, PN#555-4422 but you can also substitute the Steeda adjustable LCA's PN#555-4416 with poly bushings and upgrade the axle end to a rod end for an extra$75. This will improve yourLCA's freedom of movement and improve the LCA's location ability with only a little bit of extra NVH. The Steeda LCA relocation brackets I recommend are SteedaPN#555-8119 and they are weld-in only. Billet LCA'sare for looks onlyand costs way too much for the functionality you get.

I recommended stuff for a drag strip specialist not a road course car. You can certainly leave your anti-roll bar connected with no problems but at higher power levels on slicks you will launch straighter without the bar connected.

HTH!

Hi Fleron230,

This is pretty complete but you must use the CC105MU caster/camber plates for the QA1 struts. While you are at it I think you mayalso want to buythe matching QA1 coilover kit, look at the QA1 MU200 kit for a good street ride. I'm assumming you are not using lowering springsbut if you do want to lower the car at the rear call my friend Gus at Steeda and ask him to sell you just the rear adjustable spring seats and a set of springsfor the rear of the car. These parts are normally part of the SteedaAdjustable Suspension kit and I do not have part numbers for this stuff but if you ask Gus real nice and tell him what you are doingI think hecan hook you up.I highly recommend that you use Steeda springs asthey are linear rate springs and this makes it much easier to find a good damping rate in bump and rebound unlike the more common so called progressive springs on the market. You need to useabout a175lb rate spring for use with the 200lb springs I recommended above in the QA1 coil over kit. You will still have excellent street ride if the dampers are not turned up too much and the ride height isset to stock or no lower than 1" lower front and rear. Remember, do not go lower than 1" in front because you do not havea way to fix the geometry issues caused by going lower than one inch in front. At the rearyou are able to fix your IC (instant center)with the LCA relocation brackets so you are not going to hurt your ability to launch hard off the line due to these changes.

HTH!

Ok, thanks a lot! Would this make my suspension all hard? Also, will my Mustang handle better or worse on turns... because I don't want it to handle worse?
