My car hibernated for most of the winter, and now with the great weather I've been driving it much more.

I am annoyed by a creaking noise that I hear mostly when the car is going slow. I've tried to duplicate the noise by pushing on the front while it is stopped with no success. Some days are worse than others, and the creaking increases.

Any ideas?

I get the creaking only in very warm/hot weather over speed bumps and dips in the road. Didn't hear it all winter. Has to be a bushing.

It is not noticable at crusing speed or hitting bumps. I hear it most when I am creeping along, backing out of my driveway or at Dunkin Donuts drivethru.[8D]

Hi Margarita Girl,

Please refresh my memory, did you installSteeda HD strut mounts in front or any other control arms of anti-roll bars on your car? I can't remember what aftermarket suspension stuff (if any)you have on your car.

If your pony is all stock it could just be a case of the bushings sticking and a few shots of silicone spary lube on the black rubber bushingswill eventually work it's way in and stop the creaking.

I have Roush springs and Koni adjustable struts up front.

Is there a diagram on the web that shows what bushings I should lube? [&:]

Look at this LINK toofficial FordS197Factory Shop Manual page PDF's of the front suspension.

Consider a shot of spray silicone basedlubeon the chassis side anti-roll bar bushings#8 on the right side of page 2 and at the lower control arm bushings on page 3, items #1 and #7. The illustrations do not show the details at allbut when you crawl under the car you will see that for thetwo bushings shown on page 2the metal anti-roll bar passesrightthrough them.The bushings on page 3 are harder to see as they are obscured by the frame mounting points and the protective bushing heat shields Just try to do your best and don't be shy about the silicone spray as it does not attract dust and wont harm anything under the car. It may take more than one application as it takes tie to seep into the joints.

Hey I had the same problem. It actually have a thread right now on it lol. It turned out to be (at least in my case) the front struts. The struts are defective on some cars and Ford has issued updated ones to replace them. I would take it in to see if you hAVe the same problem. Hope this helps

This is my second set of Koni struts on the front. The first set was recalled due to faulty weld. The noise started after the second install. I still have the stock mounts.[&:]
