I just got an 07 V6, and I'd like to mod it.
However, I still have a warranty, and I don't want to void it.
Is there anything I can do to it without losing it?

Whatever you want to. The dealer has to prove that the aftermarket part caused the particular failure.

Quit worrying about that crap. If you wait until your warranty is up you'll have wasted a lot of fun that these cars are all about.

Your view of warranties does not apply to America, only other countries, or that other era of muscle cars that happened to your parents. During the last recession and boom involving crappy fuel efficient cars the SEMA organization quietly passed a law making manufacturers no longer able to prevent you from modding cars by holding warranties over your head.

They can't do ANYTHING to you unless it's considered abuse related damage. It's a federal law.

You can mod away with anything your heart desires but come up with a better plan then "I'd like to mod it", then you might get some better suggestions. Don't worry about your warranty, I brought my car in for the passenger Air Bag Recall last year with my hand full of suspension and brake upgrades; my dealership didn't say anything to me about it.

I figure the first thing I should get is a CAI.
I was thinking of this one:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-2005-v6-cai.html

After that I was thinking about getting a throttle body spacer just because it is cheap, but I've heard they don't do anything so I'm a bit confused.
http://www.americanmuscle.com/mmr-2005v6-tb-spacer.html

After that I was thinking of new headers:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/jba-sh...rs-0509v6.html

I'm not too sure about suspension work or anything like that.
I do plan on getting larger and wider tires along with its obviously corresponding wheel, but I don't really want to do that just yet.
I'm not sure how suspension work would affect those future plans.

  1. Buy your CAI & tune combo from Brenspeed or Bama and get custom tunes. The canned tune from AM doesn't hold a candle. The tune is the bulk of the power maker of the combo.
  2. Throttle body spacers aren't worth anything. Don't waste your money. There are cheaper paperweights.
  3. For whatever reason, I couldn't open the link for the headers. Be sure to research this. The LT's provide more power gain, typically eliminate the cats and will require a new tune. Shorties are controversial regarding their bang-for-the-buck.

When I get a tuner, I wanted to get this one:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/sct-li...600-tuner.html
It just looks so nice.

I'm not really sure what specific CAI is best. If you have a link to a better one with the reasons why it is better, I'd love to see it.

So no body spacers then.

I was going to get shorties because
A.That's all I could find for the V6
B.I'm thinking of installing turbo in the future. Would long tube headers affect that?

Is there any other specific mod that I'm passing over that would also help?
As I said earlier, I know very little about suspension and anything related to that. Any help with that would be much appreciated, but I don't know if that will affect future plans for larger wheels.
