Want to change my Struts/Shocks, need help
#11
Some interesting information here, thanks everyone for the help. So what kind of dampers should I look into? Also, I assume then I can just use the konis with the stock springs?
I had a watts link on my car a while back from Lakewood which was not that great and didn't really do much. I read on another thread that watts links will in NO way make your car "ride" better and could only really increase NVH.
The tires are definitely a problem as well as they are 35s right now. I wanted to get 40s but they didn't have them so I went with the 35s, but when these are done I'll definitely get 40s.
The CHE LCAs are pretty bad in my opinion only because my car is not lowered and its the poly/rod end kind which I think has something to do with the ride. I was thinking about getting the Steeda billet ones as they seem to be one of the best replacements for stock but if anyone knows otherwise, let me know.
I also get pretty bad wheel hop even with the LCAs. I haven't put on my BMR UCA yet but I am hoping that will help.

My street car has Koni's and stock springs on it ('07 GT), so yes that's fine...
You are one of the very first to say they found no difference in a Watts link. But I'm wondering if it's due to the shocks. I never put a Watts on before proper dampers. I'd like to hear more about what you found (specifically) before and after. The Lakewook part is pretty flimsy and had some issues. So far those that have changed find the rear of the car much more stable over not perfect roads. The ride itself in terms of wheel rate, damping rate, etc. is not anything to do with a Watts link, so you can't expect it to soften the ride. Where it should help is make the car more stable when you hit bumps (particularly when you are loaded in a corner).
